[Beijing, China — June 27, 2025] — The 2025 China Long Drive Championship, a qualifying leg of the Asian Long Drive Championship, is set to officially tee off on July 7, 2025. Registration is now open via the official “长打王” WeChat public account and mini program.

This year’s competition will unfold in two stages: a nationwide qualifying series and a national final. The qualifiers will run from July 7 to September 28, spanning four phases across twelve rounds. Players will earn spots in the national finals based on performance in their respective categories throughout each phase.
Beginning next Monday, players from across the country can compete using Run Golf (如歌) connected simulators at more than 900 locations nationwide. The 2025 season is open to the public, and any eligible player may register and compete via the official tournament channels.

Since its inception in 2020, the China Long Drive Championship has seen exponential growth in both visibility and competitive level. The 2024 season was the most competitive yet. In the men’s division, a 320-yard drive only ranked 40th, highlighting the caliber of participants. Notably, Wu Di blasted a 401-yard shot in the qualifiers, but it was Yao Wentao from Kunming who stole the spotlight with a staggering 406-yard drive, the longest of the 2024 season.

What’s New for 2025
The 2025 season introduces several exciting changes:
1. Three Distinct Competition Categories
Individual Competition: Divided into Men’s, Women’s, and Senior (45+) divisions, starting July 7.
2. Team Competition: Following enthusiastic response to last year’s exhibition event, the team format is now official. Designed to emphasize collaboration and city-based rivalries, team registration will open in late July to clubs, teams, and regional groups nationwide.

Junior Competition: A fully independent tournament for players aged 7 to 17, structured to accommodate academic calendars. The season runs September to the following July, culminating in a grand summer final featuring not just long drive contests, but also putting, chipping, and full 18-hole competitions. Youth events will also serve as platforms for international exchange, with players from other Asian countries expected to participate.
3. Asian Ranking Points Up for Grabs
The China Long Drive Championship remains the only China-based event sanctioned by the Asian Long Drive Association. Participants will earn official Asian Long Drive Ranking Points, and top performers will qualify for the 2025 Asian Long Drive Championship.
Road to Glory
The inaugural China Long Drive Championship debuted on September 18, 2020, at Mission Hills Golf Club in Haikou. Wu Di, with a drive of 322 yards, was crowned the first “King of Long Drive” in China. Though COVID-19 disrupted the 2021 and 2022 seasons, Wu Di retained his title until competition resumed in full strength in 2024.

Long drive competitions, first introduced in 1976, differ from traditional golf by focusing solely on maximum distance within a fixed time and shot count. Players hit 6 balls within 2.5 minutes, and the longest shot within bounds counts. Its intensity and unpredictability have made it one of the most-watched events on Golf Channel in the U.S., evolving from a niche format to a global tour phenomenon.
