The Melbourne based golfer is no stranger to gold.
Steffan Scutti is a name that stands out and stands tall among the Asia Long Drive Association (ALDA), his dedication and perseverance are key to his success in a sport that requires precision and power.
A talented and natural athlete, Steffan Scutti was a powerhouse in basketball, having several offers to play in the United States, his dream to play basketball met a sudden stop due to a heart condition. However, this did not stop him from becoming a decorated athlete.
In 2019 he won the Australian Long Drive Championship with a 384-yard bomb and won the Asia Long Drive Championship setting a new benchmark record with a 403-yard dive
Steffan’s passion and talent for the sport is evident, when asked about his favourite part of the sport he mentioned that ‘’The feeling of adrenaline of being up on the tee against some of the best is something that I love’’.
Steffan’s preparation is key to his success, his training regimen, a fusion of physical conditioning and technical finesse allows him to generate tremendous clubhead speed. In his own words ‘’For the days leading up to the tournament in Thailand I spent a lot of time in the gym and training hard in the studio and the simulator, sometimes I do two or even three sessions a day to keep myself in shape, focusing on mobility, stretching and flexibility work as well as working on my drive in my studio in Melbourne and focusing on my diet ‘’
Steffan’s impact on the sport transcends his accolades and trophies. His sportsmanship, dedication and commitment to the sport and our organization have made him an inspiration to upcoming golfers worldwide. ‘’The level of competition is one of the biggest challenges, when playing with some of the best all around the world, sometimes you got to step it up and deliver within minutes of stepping up into the tee box’’ Steffan said.
The sport has also impacted greatly in the golfer’s life. ‘’Growing up I was always playing basketball, but due to my heart condition I had to give up my dream at about 16, so I took up golf and I really enjoyed it, and then I found out about the sport of long drive and it changed my life, I started dominating in different competitions here in Australia, had the chance to play overseas like Thailand and it has really helped my business and my personal life in many ways’’
In the ever-evolving world of long drive, Steffan Scutti’s name will continue to reverberate as a symbol of skill, power, and perseverance. ‘’As long as the sport is in good hands, I see this sport growing immensely, the guys at Asian Long Drive Association (ALDA) are making a great job at organizing these events and tournaments. Every event that I’ve competed in the crowd has loved it, the adrenaline and the noise is so different from normal golf, so it has a lot of potential’’.
As he continues to strive for greater heights and longer distances, his legacy will remain a testament to the boundless possibilities that can be achieved trough the passion and dedication for the game Steffan Scutti has for the game.
